early termination of lease
My husband passed away recently and I can't afford to pay the rent on the single family house we had been renting. We has been in the house for 6 months of a 2 year lease when he died. I am planning to move to a much less expensive place. My question: Is dealth of a spouse a reason to break a lease and can I get my security deposit back?

No. However, most landlords will be sympathetic and allow early termination of the lease.
