lease and rent

What if I did not sign a lease for four years even though I requested one and never received it. I owe rent and is about to move, am I legally obliged to pay. What if I can not afford to pay

If you owe rent, you have to pay what is owed, but if you never executed a new lease you do not have to pay for the term of the lease, although if you did not give adequate notice you may need to pay an additional month of rent.
