do i pay rent
i just found out that my landlord lied to me by telling me my apartment was all leagel.i had the town building inspecter come out and tell me that my landlord do not have the renter permit and has not have it since 1997.do i pay rent next month or not?

You may not properly occupy the apartment if it is illegal. A court will not uphold an illegal agreement and force the payment of rent. However, a court will remove you from an illegal residence.
