Re: lawyers fee

The attorney who responded earlier has given you, in my opinion, wrong information.

First, grievances are not filed with a Bar Association, greivances are filed with your local Grievance Committee. The address/phone can be found on the New York State Unified Court System website.

Secondly, I don't suggest filing a grievance without knowing more information. Many clients file grievances as a "knee-jerk" reaction when there is really nothing more than a misunderstanding between attroney and client. The grievance then gets dismissed and the attorney becomes your enemy. I think a grievance should be a last resort.

A better idea is to call another attorney to see if they can find out what is truly going on.

Also, if you are truly unhappy with your attorney, you can fire him at any time and get a new attorney.

Hope this is helpful.
