Legal Question in Legal Ethics in New York

voting

I worked with my party during the last election making phone calls to individuals who hadn't voted yet. To do this, we used copies of the voter sign-in sheet at the polling place to check off the names of those registered with the party who had voted. Is it illegal to discuss with others information regarding weather or not certain people voted or didn't vote? Please provide specifically what law or regulation this pertains to.

Thank You!

Re: voting

Upon a quick review of the law it seems that the act of voting itself is not confidential. How he or she voted is confidential informatin. Therefore, technically I believe it is not illegal to discuss with others information concerning whether a person appeared at a polling place.
