Legal Question in Medical Malpractice in New York

My 36 yr old. boyfriend was diagnosed with Graves disease but not put on medication. He has been seeing a dr. weekly for about two months. He had two episodes which he was just told could have killed him. The first one he had a 80% chance of surviving, the last one landed him in the hospital for the second time, and he was told he had a 10% chance of surviving. He was told if this happens again it will kill him. He was just put on medication last friday. I am thinking malpractice!! Suggestions?

You may have a claim. However, you must prove two elements in a medical malpractice case: 1) liability (whether the doctor deviated from the standard of care) and 2) damages (injury).

I do not have enough information as to the extent of his injuries and whether there is any permanency.
