medical malpractice

in 1997 a neurolist did an emg on me, i had a seizure typre reaction,went to another neuro and he said i post-electrocution and i needed hospitalizatuion and medical treatment. I have been suffering from seizures eversince. csn i sue the dr. who did the emg? i know alot of time passed,but i thought my lawyer was handling it. he didnt. thanks

What did the first neuro do wrong? Assuming there was malpractice, the statute of limitations is 2 1/2 years from the date of the malpractice. The statute is extended if there has been continuous treatment by the same doctor or group. What do you mean you thought your lawyer was handling it? Did you retain him for this case? Did he start a lawsuit? The statute of limitations for legal malpractice is three years from the date of the malpractice, which can be extended if there has been continuous representation on the case.
