Legal Question in Medical Malpractice in New York

Medical Neglect

My mother went into the hospital for treatment for hypothyroidism and ended up contracting C. Diff.

Do we have any legal recourse?

Re: Medical Neglect

I am uncertain what you mean by C.Diff.

Hypothyroidism is low thyroid production, which is controlled by giving synthetic thryoid hormones. These levels are then monitored regularly. This does not require a hospital admission.

What was the cause of hypothyroidism. This can be caused by a tumor either benign or malignant. On rare occasions these could be for no reason at all.

If it was because of a tumor, that tumor should have been removed and biopsed. It doesn't seem from your inquiry that she had surgery.

Please give me more information so I can better answer the question.
