Legal Question in Medical Malpractice in New York

can i sue my kidney specialist?

I am 42 yo with a disease called Fibromuscular dysplasia, I have had 4 angioplasties over the last 1 1/2 years and persistant high blood pressure. I am on 5 different kinds of high blood pressure pills and take 13 a day total. I have all of the signs that my artery is reblocked on my left side but this doctor keeps insisting i have primary hypertension. i saw a vascular surgeon last week who performed a ultrasound and my left kidney is completely occluded and at this point it looks like i am going to lose it. I have further tests to see if they can bypass it but i have 2 stents on that side and i could lose the kidney anyways. when all is said and done do i have a case against this doctor that insists on constantly feeding me pills. thank you

Re: can i sue my kidney specialist?

Medical malpractice cases are extremely complicated and very costly. Your current condition would probably make it difficult to place any liability on your kidney specialist. Although, I do not have all the facts of your case.

Re: can i sue my kidney specialist?

Your case is extremely complex and would require a lot of work to bring a suit. You would need to get a nephrologist to opine that your doctor was negligent. Frankly, with your kidney condition it will be hard to show that the doctor was neglgient.

If you would like, we could talk about this further. My office is located in White Plains, NY. If you are in the vicinity please email me and we can discuss. If you are not in the vicinity, contact me and I can refer you to a doctor in your area.
