Legal Question in Native American Law in New York

Can members of Tribal Police Forces have status of Federal Marshals at the same

My question refers to Tribal Police Forces. If a Tribal Police Force has deputization through the BIA, is it legal to have members gain Status as Federal Marshals at the same time? Is it legal for them to serve in both capacities, as Nation Police Officers and as Federal Marshals?

Do they not have to serve in either one or the other? And if yes, what law applies?

It is not uncommon for law enforcement officers to have multiple commissions. A city policeman may also be deputized as a county deputy sheriff, and a state policeman as well. For a tribal law enforcement officer to also be a US Marshall is not illegal, but is highly unlikely. Marshalls usually are just that, and they seldom grant commissions to other law enforcement officers who are not in the service.
