Legal Question in Personal Injury in New York

Regarding Dog Mauling Lawsuit

The past July, I was mauled severly by one of my neighbor's dog that jumped out of their house and attacked me. There is a personal injury suit in progress. I just found out that the owner's of the German Shepard have placed their house on the market to be sold.

Should a lien be placed on their house to protect my claim against their homeowner's insurance policy?

Re: Regarding Dog Mauling Lawsuit

You have no grounds for a lien until you win the suit and have a judgment to enforce. If the Insurance existed at the time of the incident it won't disappear because the house is sold.

You will not be able to get a lien without a judgment.
