I was out with a friend and we were both drinking. He got violent and broke my ankle by kicking me. Can I sue him. I am out of work for three months and required surgery

There is a civil action for battery. There is another for negligent excessive use of force. Explore the possibilities with an attorney. Success will depend on various things, not the least of which is whether your "friend" has any assets or insurance. Best, M. E. Zuller
