If you suffered any injuries, you need to immediately file a claim with the appropriate agency that owns/operates the bus. It could be the NYC Transit Authority, the MTA or MABSTOA (Manhattan and Bronx Surface Transit Operating Authority). If you have questions, you can call me at 212-687-6262. Sherri L. You should file a police report, start medical treatment if you were injured and retain a lawyer to represent you.

There are strict limits in filing claims against the City and its agencies, so you should act accordingly.

I am very sorry for your ordeal. If you were injured you need to file a report with the police and then make sure you file a Notice of Claim within 90 days of the accident otherwise you are barred from bringing a claim. Person injury cases involving suing the city are more complex and require an attorney who has experience in these matters. I have handled many city cases involving NYC buses. Please contact me, Pasquale Calcagno, Esq., for a free consultation at 1(800)WE-FIGHT or visit us on the web at www.1800wefight.com.
