Legal Question in Product Liability in New York

Contact lenses

I wore contact lenses which really damaged my eyes. I was blind for a week, I had experienced a great deal of pain and suffering for that week, I lost week's salary ($32.5 per hour plus overtime), my vision is still blurry and it impairs my ability to study in law school. There is a possibility that it permanently damaged my vision. I believe those contact lenses were defective and I would like to sue the company that produced it.

Do you think I have a case? would you recomend a lawyer who would handle it?

Thank you

Re: Contact lenses

As a practical matter, unless the damages are significant, an attorney will genreally not accept such a products case given the extremely expensive start up costs involved.

If the eyesight difficulties are temporary, be glad it's not worse. If it gets significantly worse, then you might be able to have a viable suit...depending on all of the facts.

In ny event, save all documentation from the lenses, including prescirprions, order forms, packaging etc.

Good Luck
