Legal Question in Real Estate Law in New York

I have 1 yr lease in my aprtment complex. I been living here 6 months so far. My problem is this place is infested with cockroaches and bed bugs. I have a 3yr, 5yr and 6 month old. My 3 and 5 year old wake up everyday with rashes. I even seen a cockroach climbing on my sons bottle. Im also starting to see rashes on my 6 month old. How can I break this lease.

You must notify your landlord of the bedbug and roach infestation right away. Make sure you have proof of the notification i.e. send a letter by registered mail. If the landlord refuses to fix the problem or would not act reasonably, then you may move out. But before moving out make sure you consult an attorney.
