Legal Question in Real Estate Law in New York

I bought a house 5 years ago, the title company said it was clear. 3 years ago I find out it had a lien on it that the title company missed, even though it was in the paper work. It cost me $2000 to clear the lien, I filed a claim, and have been given the run around for the past 2 1/2 years and have gotten no where. If I hire a lawyer will the title company be responsible for the cost of the lawyer? Thank you.

Usually under the circumstances you describe, they will be responsible for "reasonable" legal fees. What does your policy coverage say about this?
