Legal Question in Real Estate Law in New York

Condo question

I own a condominium in a building with approx 200 units. Our former management company failed to pay our bills for 2-3 months and then disappeared leaving our bills unpaid and reserve acounts empty. We are now being assesed a monthly fee for this debt that technically we already paid in our common charges. What are our rights here? Are we legally responsible to pay?

Re: Condo question

That is a shame. Hopefully, a criminal complaint was filed against the manager that stole the money.

Unfortunately, you - together with the other unit owners - are responsbile to pay.

Mike.
