Legal Question in Real Estate Law in New York

Co-op Loss

Hi, I recently got denied for a co-op after months of waiting without even an interview. In the meantime, I spent a lot of money on a title search, two different appraisals, application and lawyer fees. Once you are denied, is there anything you can do to get back some of this money or is it the chance you take when buying a co-op. I am afraid to do this all over again..Thanks, Maria

Re: Co-op Loss

We would have to try to find out why the coop board denied you. Often, the board won't give you a reason however you can speak to the broker to try to find out. Once that is ascertained, we can look at what rights you may have.

Feel free to contact me if you would like to discuss this further.

Kind regards,
