Legal Question in Real Estate Law in New York

co-op subleasing

My husband and I own a co-op in manhattan. Recently the co-op agent sent a letter saying that tenants were not allowed to sublease anymore due to quota being filled. My husband's company now wants to second my husband to London for two years. I called up co-op agent and they said there was nothing we could do about it apart from put our names on waiting list or sell the apartment, or leave the apartment empty. Is there any way we can sublease? Thanks

Re: co-op subleasing

In this case an attorney should review all the regulations issued by the Board of your co-op and all the by-laws in order to determine whether you have a right to sublease or not.
