Legal Question in Real Estate Law in New York

My girlfriend and I are co-buyers on a trailer that is in a trailer park. New Years night my girlfriend was drunk and hit me with a heavy mug in the face. I got 10 stitches and had to be transported to the hospital. She ran off. I pressed charges and got a 30 day Order of protection against her. What do I have to do now to legally remove her? Or do I have to let her back in after the 30 days? I don't know what my rights are as co-buyer of the trailer.

Title and possession are independent.

Concerning possession, I am sure that the 30 day order is temporary. You must seek a permanent order of protection to insure that she does not re-enter the trailer.

Concerning title, you are a co-owner with your girlfriend. To become a sole owner, you must either buy her out or have her consent to sell the trailer and split the money or commence an action to sell the trailer and split the money. Of course, her share of the money should be used to pay for your hospital bills and for your pain and suffering.

Mike.
