My husband and his sister each own 50% of their mothers home. The deed is written ''and''. If something happens to my husband is his 50% turned over to me.

Re: House ownership if one person dies

If ownership is as tenants in common - robin and mack - then upon robin's death her percentage of ownership will be given to her beneficiaries.

If ownership is as joint tenants - robin and mack as joint tenants - then upon robin's death her percentage of ownership will be given to mack.

Mike.
