Legal Question in Real Estate Law in New York

Housing

I moved in with my mother into my stepfathers apt. in 2004. Due to health and other issues my stepfather and mother moved to our native country. Do I have the right to stay in the apartament leased under my stepafather's name after living there for 4 years?

Re: Housing

I need to see a copy of the lease agreement to give a proper answer.

Assuming there is no lease agreement, the answer is no unless you paid rent that was accepted by the landlord. At which time, you would be considered a month to month tenant.
