Legal Question in Real Estate Law in New York

I lived in residential building from Jul2010 - Sep2012. Yesterday I decided to check my background on peoplesmart.com. All my records are clean besides Judgement and Liens section. I found one civil filing (ID 2011K102899) for amount of 5K. It was filed in October 2011. I moved out in Sep 2012!!! Over 2 years I received only one compaint over email regarding noise and smoking.. When I was moving out in 2012 I had a few issues regarding my pay rent because I used my security for the last month of payment and maybe I owe them 100-200 for electricity, but the case was file 9 months before I moved out.. The point is that I've never got any notification from the creditor or from the judge.. If wouldnt look it up myself the case could be open for another decade. In the meantime I've checked my credit score which is good and nothing mentions about my dept to this lanlord. Also Ive got arrested 2 months ago for violation and judge never say anything about my 5K dept.

Can you please advise if its possible to get fined $5,187 for noise and smoke complaint?

Also if its normal procedure that over 3 years I havent gotten notified?

If I have the case ID #, which clerk should i contact?

Thank you,

Entering a judgment against you would have called for you to be served with process--a summons. It's possible that your lease says you can be "served in other ways, ways that might not have resulted in you receiving actual notice of the suit. In such cases, it is fairly straightforward to get the judgment cancelled and then to deal with the claim--whatever it may be. The criminal court judge probably does not care and likely did not know of your civil judgment. You can try to do this on your own, or you can hire a lawyer to make the judgment and lawsuit go away. This number does not look like an index no (number by which cases are filed in court). So the best place to start is checking a unified court system for any cases filed agains you. Once you get your case, you will have some of your answers. It is possible that you were sued, but did not know about it and unless the judgment is being enforced ( collection) you may not even know of existence of the case. Some judgments are entered on default ( non appearance of the person being sued).
