Legal Question in Real Estate Law in New York

Pro Se Defendant

I am a Co Defendant in an action, acting as a Pro Se Defendant. We were deposed yesterday. The Plaintiff's lawyer said I could not act as a Pro Se Attorney during the depositions, meaning I could not represent the our Defendant's position during the deposition.

Is this true, that I was not legally entitled, at the deposition, to continue my Pro Se representation of the Defendants?

Re: Pro Se Defendant

Correct...or else you are practicing law without a license. You can only represent yourself pro se.
