Legal Question in Real Estate Law in New York

I recently was trying to sell my house. I had a corp. that was trying to buy my house. I signed some papers and had my father who was also on the deed sign. They told me that the papers I signed were not the closing papers. And after I signed the papers. They told me i had 1 week to remove my father from the home. I told them that 1 week was unacceptable. That it was originally said I would have 30 days to relocate him. I signed a letter of cancellation. After I signed the letter I closed on the sale of the house with another person who is giving me 60 days to relocate my father. Why did the other corp serve me with a notice of pendancy? Am i being sued?

Yes, a notice of pendency is used to to stop you from selling to anyone else. You should have a lawyer do a quick look-see to figure out what is going on. I can do this cheap, as the property is in Queens and so am I.
