Legal Question in Real Estate Law in New York

My four siblings and I own two houses. We each own one/fifth of both houses. One sibling primarily lives in one house, and another sibling primarily lives in the other house. Another sibling wants both houses appraised, and she wants to be bought out of her share. What are the legal ramifications of her actions, as the other four siblings are okay with things as they stand. Thank you in advance for your legal advice. The state in question is New York.

An individual may not be forced to be an owner of a house. Therefore, the sibling may file a partition action for each house, essentially forcing the other siblings to buy her out.
