I have a judgement lien on my home, I would like to know if there is a way to stop the creditor from collecting on the lien? If bankrupty is the option, would i be able to keep my home.

Re: stop a judgement lien collection

Whether the creditor can foreclose on the lien and whether bankruptcy is a viable option depend on several factors, including the genesis of the lien, the title holder of record, your equity in the property and the nature of your other debts. The "homestead" exemption in NY is not very high. I suggest you contact an attorney to discuss the secifics of your case.
