Legal Question in Real Estate Law in New York

Title and Deed

My husband needs to add my name to the title and deed to our home. How do we do it? What are the cost? We live in NYC. Will it create a problem as the mortgage is in his name, but I pay more than 25% of mortgage each month with his 75%.

We need to do this immediately.

Re: Title and Deed

The cost to prepare a deed conveying title to property is probably less than $500 including the cost of filing.

The bank holding the mortgage will have to agree as many mortgages have clauses rendering them payable in full upon change of title.
