Legal Question in Real Estate Law in New York

Titling Issues for Reverse Mortgage

Mom & Dad officially divorced before Dad's death. No will. His portion of the house went to 4 remaning children. 1 of children is not cooperative. We want to do Reverse Mortgage for mom in the house. What do we have to do to make sure property title is correct? Can we move forward with Reverse Mortgage is 1 child is unresponsive to any form of communication and legal requests?

Re: Titling Issues for Reverse Mortgage

If the mortgage company will allow all but one to sign, then you can move forward. If the mortgage company insists that all sign the mortgage, you will not be able to refinance.
