Under current law an employee can make a claim for workplace discrimination within one year of the discriminatory event. While this law will preclude a civil case, it does not, hover, prevent your employer from launching an internal investigation. On the other hand, the charging employees may be subject to your possible defamation suit should you decide to take action if there is a harm to your reputation that result in a tangible loss.

To follow up, you should request your employer provide for an attorney to represent you if the claim against you goes to the Division of Human Rights or to court; it would be in their interest to do so, as any monetary damages would usually be recovered from the employer anyway.
