Legal Question in Sexual Harassment in New York

I complained to my boss about sexual harassment from the chef at the restaurant I work at. My boss told me to come in to talk about it. When I got there the Chef was in the room and my boss told him everything I had said. My boss did not warn me that the chef would be there. I thought he wouldn't specify that it was me who said anything. Now none of the kitchen staff will speak to me at work. Was what my boss did illegal?

There is nothing illegal about what your boss did with respect to his handling of your complaint. The question, however, is what did he do about your complaint and whether it has been resolved or is in the processing of being resolved to your satisfaction and to the minimum legal standards. Perhaps you may want to consult with an attorney or one of several human rights agencies here in the city (e.g. EEOC, NYS Div. of Human Rights or the NYC Comm. on Human Rights).
