You don't have to have gone to law school to know the answer to this. You just have to have life experience. What were you thinking when you did not confront him with it then and make him go to therapy? ( not that it works.... ask a psychiatrist, board certified, or an experienced social worker or psychologist. ) OF COURSE you should have reported him to the authorities if you did not receive a commitment from him to go immediately and for the foreseeable future to therapy as well as getting some for your daughter. What are you waiting for, penetration? I cannot believe this question, as a parent of three grown children.

The consequences are they will probably arrest him. Do you think they'll give him a medal? You already have, by tacitly condoning his conduct and doing nothing. And I have a question for YOU...... how do you know he's stopped doing it?

Your husband is committing a crime! You are aware of it and are doing nothing to stop it. If this ends up being handled by an overzealous prosecutor you may find yourself on the wrong side of the law. You are being very selfish here...you are justifying not taking any action here by saying there was no penetration (he's not that bad), and that you have been married 30 years (your own well being). Think of your daughter, not your husband or yourself!

Pardon my French, but what kind of mother are you? By your silence, you are enabling your husband to molest your children. Every day you wait, you are guilty of child abuse.

When you are an old woman, your children will put you in a nursing home. Suggest you consult a mental health professional.
