Legal Question in Sexual Harassment in New York

Sexual Harassment from a co-worker

I have been receiving derogatory statements for six months now. My supervisors have supposedly talked to this man, but he still doesn't get it.Now they tell there is nothing else they can do. He says things infront of our clients and other staff like ''what are you so jumpy for, cause your screwing somebody's husband'','' wipe the seat off when your done in the bathroom'','' where did you get your education,BOCES for cheerleaders''. These are just a few of what I have been dealing with for the past six months. Do you think I have a case?

I can't give you a definitive answer as to if you have a case with the few facts provided. However, it does sound like there are plenty of inappropriate things being said. Find your local EEOC office, and file a charge with them. They have an internet site which will help you locate the local office. Search under "EEOC." You need to get to the EEOC office very soon. You only have 300 days to file a complaint, and if you don't file an EEOC complaint, you cannot sue in court.
