Legal Question in Tax Law in New York

For the first time, I filed joint income tax returns with my spouse - for 2011 taxes. This is the only remaining and specific question I have:

My spouse worked online in 2011, from our home state of Oregon, but for an employer he used to work for when we lived in New York State up to part of 2010. To which state must he pay 2011 taxes for that work? Thanks.
