Legal Question in Traffic Law in New York

mistake on ticket

The state trooper put wrong violation number down on ticket, and left information off of supporting deposition. Can this help to lessen or dismiss all charges?

Re: mistake on ticket

If the information in the 'supporting deposition' does not support the violation you are chrged with on the face of the ticket, then you will win the case.

The supporting deposition is not typically included in the original documents. You must request the supporting deposition at your first court appearence (or earlier if you have an attorney).

This might be worth having a lawyer represent you. The insurance savings are significant.
