Legal Question in Traffic Law in New York

posession of a loaded firearm

I was hunting nearby my house in upstate new york, and i was stopped by a DEC officer and i had bullets in the clip of the firearm i had, i'm 16 years old and this is my first time getting into trouble, how much of a fine would it be, and can a DEC officer driving one way on the road and me driving the otherway just tell me to pull over and search my vehicle?

This event may not and probably will not be satisfied by a fine. It depends upon the charges filed. You are a youthful offender so jail is not usually prescribed for juvenile first offenders. That being said you should retain a competent criminal defense attorney to help protect your rights. You may have legal defenses possibly a bad search and seizure, thereby suppressing the evidence,however only a competent attorney can resolve those issues.
