Legal Question in Traffic Law in New York

Recently, I found out that I had some unpaid tickets in the Village of Goshen NY when I acquired about them I was given a total and paid it with a money order for the entire amount approximately 5 days later I received a Notice of Appearance and the tickets where from 2002 and they were for unlicensed operation, seat belt violation, unlicensed driver and an additional seat belt violation. When I received the notice a handwritten note said that part of the payment was bail and term fees and one ticket was a misdemeanor and now I need to appear in court for this. If possible I would like to know if I need legal representation for this.....I was trying to do the right thing by paying the ticket but now I find myself in a bigger mess for doing the right thing. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It's very imp't to keep your correspondance. Was it clear you were posting bail? or did it appear it was for fines? If some charges are misdemeanors (ie crimes) than you should hire a qualified criminal attorney.

I believe if one or more of the pending charges is a misdemeanor, then it is advisable to retain a competent criminal defense attorney. Please contact my office @ 7188340087 and I will discuss any further details with you.
