Legal Question in Traffic Law in New York
is what is on the ticket the only charge you are in court for?
Can you be charged by the Judge with another violation than what you were ticketed for? Officer stopped me for speeding, however I was issued a fix it ticket for unlawful speedometer. I have taken car to the repair shop and have submitted the paperwork to the court. Thank you.

The Judge can not charge you with a higher offense than that which you were ticketed.
Officer gave you a break.
