Legal Question in Traffic Law in New York

I have two tickets in NY state for operatiing without insurance and operating vehicle with revoked/susp registration. I was at court today to try and plea these down and the prosecutor for the town was willing to drop the operating with a suspended registration down to a parking violation, but he refused to bring down the operating without insurance fine. It was said to me that if I plead guilty to this infarction I will get my license suspended for one year and have to pay a hefty fine. Is there anyway that I could plea down that charge as well or do I just have to take it like it is? I appreciate your time in looking at this, thank you.
