Legal Question in Traffic Law in New York

tinted windows

i just got a ticket for tinted windows. i purchased this vehicle from a dealer nearly a year ago although we do not drive it often... also, about 5 hours before this traffic stop i had just gotten a NYS inspection. i never knew it was illegal to have tinted windows in the first place (the vehicle is a 1999 chevy s-10 pick up truck nothing fancy about it other than the window tints) but i guess my question is this: i have a CDL license. how will this affect me? should i just have the tints removed and plead guilty and pay the fine? or will this cause me points on my license? or is it the type of ticket like a parking ticket that once paid is no longer an issue? please advise as i am going to a course for 19a trainer classification in a few weeks and need to know if this will affect my opportunity to get this. thanks for any help you can give.
