Is it costly to contest the last will and testament ?

That is an understatement! I have seen cases where the legal fees have been several hundred thousand dollars. Settlements are suggested if the claim is warranted. Cases can also last several years before a decision and unless the estate is large enough, no distributions of assets are usually made until case is decided.
