I agree with Mike that it deponds on the language of the Will. Most Wills provide that if a child predeceases leaving children, their children take in the place of the deceased parent. Some Wills say that in this case only the surviving children inherit. If you could get me a copy of the Will I could better respond.

It depends on the wording of the will. If the language has the term "and issue per stirpes", it normally means that children of decedent inherit.
