Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in New York

disinheritance

my parents are disinheriting me, but they are also going to disinherit my two sons also. They are not even named in the will at all. If for no reason at all, if a citation is sent to me, I will most likley make an appearance. They are very controlling parents. now my mother is the only parent left. Do I need an attorney with me or can I stand alone. I am 55 year old female. I am sincerely broken hearted.

Re: disinheritance

You have the right to make an Appearance (alone) BUT you will need a legal basis to oppose the will and file opposition papers.

For that, I suggest you need an attorney.

Re: disinheritance

You can stand alone of course, and I am sorry to hear you are broken hearted. Sounds like a tough situation.
