Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in New York

Before my father passed, he made an agreement with me. He did not want me to pay interest on my loan, so he gave me a check to pay off the loan. Our agreement was that I would pay him $500 per month until the loan was paid off. Since my father died, is the original agreement void? My sisters think that the money my father gave me should come off my portion of his estate, is this true?
