Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in New York

Foreign Will

A deceased left a valid will from Russian Federation cerified by magistrate and translation cerified as well. All her assets are in NY (house, bank account). Will a NY Surrogate accept this valid foreign will for probate or would it have to be domesticated first and if so what needs to be done to domesticate a will?

Re: Foreign Will

Assuming that the decedent resided in NY prior to the time of her death, then the Surrogate's Court would accept the Russian will so long as it was properly made under Russian law.
