Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in New York

Inheritance

Second cousin died; no will found, no other relatives. Court is ready to probate the estate. Asks that I submit proof of kinship. Other than birth/death certificates, how else can I prove kinship?

Re: Inheritance

Usually the Court will accept an affidavit of a disinterested witness, often filed together with a family tree.
