Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in New York

live in FL, have house in NY, need to put NY house in Trust

My mother is a FL resident and has a house in NY. She wants to title the house in NY in Trust name. She has a FL Revocable Trust, but the house is not in it. Her attorney in FL is not licensed in NY and could not do it. Does she need a NY attorney to do this, and would it be a separate Trust?

A NY attorney can be used, but is not necessary. Her FL attorney could contact a local title company with offices in NY to assist him. There are several forms, additional to a general Deed, that are needed to record a Deed in NY, and which the title company can provide and also instruct him and assist him in preparing the forms and recording the Deed and ancillary documents. I am a NJ attorney, but have done this regularly for NY resident clients transferring property to revocable trusts, if he or you needs help. The title company will charge a small fee for their help.
