we live in nys. my mother is 98 years old. the home is in her name. i have life use of home. if she goes in nursing home, will gov't take her home?

The answer depends on how your mother is paying for long term care. There is a Medicaid estate recovery program, which could seek reimbursement from the home, if mother is using Medicaid.
