Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in New York

A man dies and in the will he leaves the house and contents to his son while his wife(and mother of son) of 40+ years is still living. Doesn't a wife own the house upon her husbands death

It all depends. More information is needed on the the type of deed the father had before his death.

Maybe. Wife does not automatically inherit if her namne is not on Deed. I have not seen the Will, so I do not kinow what it says. The wife may elect her widow's share of the estate, if she has been disinherited, so she might get something. I agree more information is needed.
