Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in New York

Statute of limitation for intestacy

My father was a New York resident, and he died without a will 3 years ago. After his death, my sister took charge of his estate and gave me nothing. At the time I did not want to fight her on this but I have now changed her mind. My father was divorced and had 2 children, my sister and me. Is there a statute of limitation for me to try to get my ''fair share''? If not, what is the best way forward?

Re: Statute of limitation for intestacy

Petition to start an administrative proceeding in the Surrogate's Court in the county in which your father resided at the time of his death. You can get help from the administration clerk.
